Why Baccarat is the Game of Choice for Filipino Players
Walk into any major casino in the Philippines — Solaire, City of Dreams, Okada Manila — and you'll notice the same thing: the Baccarat tables are always the busiest. That's no accident. Filipinos have a deep connection with this game, and it's not hard to understand why. Baccarat is clean, fast, and gives you some of the best odds of any table game. The house edge on the Banker bet is just 1.06%, which means your money lasts longer and your winning chances are genuinely competitive.
At pub999, we've built our Baccarat offering around exactly what Filipino players want: authentic live dealer tables streamed in crystal-clear HD, lightning-fast GCash deposits so you're never waiting to get in the action, and a range of table limits that cater to everyone from casual players up to high-rolling VIPs. Whether you're on a lunch break in Makati or relaxing at home in Quezon City, pub999 Baccarat is always a tap away.
Our live casino studio partners — including Evolution Gaming — host professional dealers around the clock. These are real humans dealing real cards in real time, streamed directly to your device. You can chat, tip, and interact just like you would at a land-based table. The difference is you're saving the cab fare to BGC and playing in your own comfort zone with full control over your bets and pace.
Baccarat Variants at pub999
Not all Baccarat is the same. pub999 gives you access to multiple variants, each with its own pace, side bets, and atmosphere. Here's what's on the table.
Punto Banco
The classic version most Filipinos grew up watching. Pure chance, no strategy decisions required mid-hand. Just pick Banker, Player, or Tie and ride the result. Ideal for both beginners and seasoned players who want a relaxed session.
Speed Baccarat
Each round completes in under 30 seconds — perfect for players who want rapid action and more hands per hour. Cards are dealt face-up immediately, keeping the pace tight and the adrenaline flowing without sacrificing any fairness.
VIP Baccarat
Exclusive tables with higher stake limits, fewer players per table, and a more private atmosphere. pub999 VIP members get priority seating on these tables. Minimum bets start higher, but the experience is unmatched — think of it as your own private salon in Makati.
Live Baccarat Squeeze
The theatrical version of the game. The dealer slowly peels back each card — the classic "squeeze" — building tension and suspense with every reveal. A favourite among players who enjoy the ritual and drama of a traditional Baccarat session.
Multi-Camera Baccarat
Multiple HD camera angles give you a cinema-grade view of every deal. Switch between the close-up of the card reveal and the full table view. Great for players who want maximum immersion and feel like they're physically sitting at the table.
No Commission Baccarat
Standard Banker bets carry a 5% commission on wins. No Commission Baccarat eliminates that fee, making each payout cleaner and simpler. There's a trade-off on specific hand outcomes, but for many players the streamlined payout structure is well worth it.
How to Play Baccarat at pub999
If you're new to the game, don't worry — Baccarat is one of the simplest casino games to learn. Here's the quick version: two hands are dealt, the Banker and the Player. Your job is just to bet on which hand will have a total closest to 9. You can also bet on a Tie if you think both hands will finish equal, though the odds on that bet are much lower and not recommended for regular play.
Card Values
- Ace = 1 point
- Cards 2–9 = face value
- 10, J, Q, K = 0 points
- Hand value = last digit of total (e.g., 15 = 5)
Bet Options & Payouts
- Banker win → pays 1:1 (minus 5% commission)
- Player win → pays 1:1
- Tie → pays 8:1 (house edge: ~14%)
- Pair side bets → pays 11:1
The most important thing to know: the Banker bet has the lowest house edge at 1.06%, making it statistically the safest choice in the long run. The Tie bet looks tempting at 8:1, but a ~14% house edge makes it a trap for most sessions. Stick to Banker and Player, manage your bankroll, and you'll get far more enjoyment per peso.

Baccarat Tips & Strategy for Filipino Players
Let's be honest — Baccarat is largely a game of chance. No card-counting system, no betting progression, and no "hot dealer" is going to change the underlying math. What strategy can do is help you make smarter decisions with your bankroll, avoid the worst bets, and extend your playing time so you get the most entertainment value from every peso you deposit via GCash or PayMaya at pub999.
The first and most practical tip: always bet the Banker. With a house edge of just 1.06%, it's the closest thing to an even-money bet you'll find in a casino. Yes, there's a 5% commission on Banker wins, but you'll still come out ahead in the long run compared to consistently betting Player (1.24% edge) or, worse, chasing the Tie (14.36% edge). If you want a simple, disciplined approach, just flat-bet Banker for your entire session.
Second: set a session budget and stick to it. Whether that's ₱500 or ₱5,000, decide before you log in how much you're willing to spend. Baccarat sessions can swing quickly in either direction, and chasing losses is where most players get into trouble. pub999's responsible gaming tools let you set daily deposit limits, which is a smart safeguard regardless of how experienced you are.
Third: ignore pattern-tracking and trend boards unless you enjoy them for entertainment. The "road" displays you see on every Baccarat table — Big Road, Bead Plate, Big Eye Boy — are interesting visual tools, but each shoe is statistically independent. Past results don't influence future cards. Use the roads to add fun to your session, not to make betting decisions based on streaks.
Fourth: manage your pace. Speed Baccarat at pub999 can deal 150+ hands per hour, which sounds exciting but also means your bankroll moves faster. If you're working with a modest session budget, stick to standard-speed tables where you have more time between hands to think, breathe, and enjoy the experience. The game is always more fun when you're not rushing.
